About D's Delights ~ Gluten Free Baked Goods
Diane
Richey's story started in 1998 when she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Celiac
is a digestive condition triggered by eating the protein in gluten found
in bread, pasta, cookies and foods containing wheat, oats, barley or rye.
Gluten is also found in unexpected places when forms of wheat, etc. are
used as filler or thickening agents. It can be found in such products as
ice cream or sausage.
"I personally know how hard it is to eat a healthy diet and feel satisfied. This is why I started D's Delights. I wanted to enjoy the good stuff too!" says Diane
Diane lives in Whitefield. In 2008, she began selling her gluten free baked goods to friends, and eventually at the Littleton and Bethlehem Farmesr' market where the popularity of her baked goods was clearly evident. She sells out nearly every week!
Anyone who believes they may have Celiac Disease should consult their physician. There are also many helpful websites. Here are a few:

- Mayo Clinic - Mayo Clinic is actively engaged in national, patient-centered health care.
- Family Doctor - Health information for the entire family.
